Arbitration is a dispute resolution process where an impartial tribunal hears both sides of a dispute and makes a binding decision that the parties have agreed in advance to abide by. CIETAC accepts cases involving economic, trade and other disputes of a contractual or non-contractual nature, based on an agreement of the parties.

Yes, the arbitration award issued by CIETAC is final and binding on all parties involved.

Yes, parties have the opportunity to select their arbitrator from CIETAC's panel of experienced professionals. The parties may also agree to appoint arbitrators outside of CIETAC’s panel of arbitrators.

CIETAC ensures that all arbitration proceedings are conducted with strict confidentiality, protecting the interests of all parties.

Documents submitted by foreign parties when filing a case do not necessarily need to be notarized and certified. However, if the arbitral tribunal deems notarization and certification necessary during the arbitration proceedings, the parties shall comply accordingly.

If the parties have agreed on a specific language for the arbitration, their agreement will be followed. In the absence of such an agreement, the language of the arbitration will be determined by CIETAC, which may designate one or more languages after considering all the circumstances of the case, including the language of the contract. After the arbitral tribunal is formed, it may also redesignate the language(s) to be used in the proceedings, taking into account the specific circumstances of the case.
